Luscious Butter Chicken Recipes

There are various methods of preparing butter chicken recipes, however, today I will be teaching you how to prepare my favorite butter chicken recipe.

Some persons believe that this chicken recipe consists of merely chicken mixed in butter, but that is not totally correct. There is more to the recipe than just chicken and butter. Butter is just one of the minor ingredients used in this awesome dish.

Oh and don't worry about the number of ingredients listed below, the preparation is smooth and the taste is finger-licking!

Serves 3-5


  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless chicken breast cut into cubes
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chilli powder
  • salt
  • 2 teaspoons sweet paprika
  • 2 teaspoons coriander
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 6 bruised cardamom pods
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • Yogurt Mixture

  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons garlic paste
  • salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 2 tablespoons ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 1 tablespoon green chile pepper chopped
  • 2 cups tomato puree
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried fenugreek leaves
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Preparation

  • 1. Marinate chicken by putting it in a glass dish with 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1 tablespoon chili powder, paprika, coriander, cinnamon, 1 tablespoon tomato paste, cardamom pods, sugar and salt to taste, cover dish and let it stand for 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  • 2. Place the yogurt in a cloth for 15 to 20 minutes to drain it. Mix it with salt, garlic paste, ½ tablespoon garam masala, 1 teaspoon butter, 1 tablespoon chili powder and lemon juice, 1 tablespoon ginger paste and oil in a bowl. Spread the yogurt mixture over chicken, refrigerate for another 1 to 2 hours so it can marinate. Set oven to 400 degrees so it can preheat.
  • 3. Once the chicken is marinated, place it on skewers into a baking tray in an oven for 45 minutes.
  • Sauce Preparation :

    In a saucepan, melted butter and stir in garam masala. When masala crackles, mix in ginger paste, chopped garlic and green chile peppers so they can sauté. When sauté stir in tomato puree, chili powder, salt to taste and add water. Cook and allow to simmer, then stir in honey and fenugreek leaves.

  • Add baked chicken to sauce mixture and keep simmering for another 5 minutes or until chicken is cooked. Then stir in your fresh cream.
